Our Latest News - November

November Update

The team continued to hold Sunday morning work sessions, in particular on Fielden Wharf and the Myrtle street site, where overgrown plants were replaced. Work continued at the ‘town gate’ site, including mulching with spent hops donated by the local ‘Eagle Crag’ brewery.

On November 9th members of the team joined the mayor and councillors to welcome Darren Widdop and friends from the British Legion who were placing a commemorative wreath at the railway station to mark the centenary of the end of WW1. We also attended the service in the Memorial Garden at Centre Vale park on the 11th, and laid a wreath on behalf of our team.

Our monthly meeting discussed future projects and possible new sources of funding.

The Castle Hill school garden club met for the last time until the spring, and enjoyed a pumpkin pie made from their own produce.
