October Update

All barrier baskets and large planters were removed and replanted with the winter / spring displays in the first week of the month. The colour theme is largely red, white and blue to reflect the WW1 centenary next year. Luckily we had fine weather for this mammoth task!

Plans for next year are progressing. We hope to develop a fernery at the back of the Patmos garden, in recognition of famous gardeners & plant specialists from Todmorden’s past *** Also thanks to Todmorden Council for supporting funding for repairs and replacement plants for Patmos caused by vandalism.

In partnership with the Friends of Todmorden station, our team is hoping to redecorate the waiting room on the Leeds platform, to mark next year’s WW1 centenary.

Once again Sunday gardening sessions continued throughout the month in the public space gardens, and at last Castle Hill school garden club restarted with some spring bulb planting by year 4 pupils.
